There is a particular satisfaction in a perfect set of nails. The client sees it every day for weeks, and so does everyone she shakes hands with.

\n\n

We are recruiting a Nail Technician for an established day spa in Colombo 7, Sri Lanka. The spa has asked us to find a therapist whose nail work is genuinely excellent, with the facial skills to match. We placed a therapist with this spa last year, so we know the team and the standard well.

\n\n

THE ROLE

\n\n

This is a nail-led position. Most of your day will be spent on nails, with facials making up the rest of your treatment list.

\n\n

• Manicures, pedicures, gel and gel polish, extensions and nail art

\n\n

• Facial treatments, including hydrafacials

\n\n

• Client consultations and product recommendations

\n\n

• Strict hygiene and sterilisation standards in your station and treatment room

\n\n

• Supporting colleagues with waxing and other treatments where trained

\n\n

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

\n\n

• At least three years’ experience as a nail technician or beauty therapist, confirmed by a previous employer. This is a visa requirement.

\n\n

• A recognised qualification in beauty therapy, cosmetology or nail technology, with the certificate to hand. This is also a visa requirement.

\n\n

• Clean, consistent nail work across the full menu, and a portfolio of your own photographs to show it • Facial experience. Hydrafacial experience is a real advantage.

\n\n

• Experience in a quality spa or salon. Experience in Dubai or elsewhere in the Gulf is welcome. • Good spoken English

\n\n

• Willingness to relocate on your own for two years and to live in shared staff accommodation

\n\n

THE PACKAGE

\n\n

• Base salary of USD 750 to 850 per month, depending on experience and the quality of your nail work, paid in Sri Lankan rupees

\n\n

• Commission on treatments and products, plus tips

\n\n

• Shared staff accommodation

\n\n

• Flights and work visa arranged by the employer

\n\n

Full terms are confirmed in writing at offer stage.

\n\n

If you are coming from the Gulf, the base salary will be lower than you are used to. Living costs in Colombo are lower too, and therapists who build a regular client list earn well on commission. Look at the numbers carefully before you apply.

\n\n

HOW TO APPLY

\n\n

Please send your CV with month and year for every position, a copy of your qualification certificate, and 8 to 12 photographs of your own recent nail work. Tell us your notice period and your earliest possible start date.

\n\n

The spa would like its new therapist in place by mid to late November, so we are reviewing applications now. Candidates who can start within four weeks will be considered first.

\n\n

Crawford & Carruthers does not charge candidates a fee at any stage.
